Chandigarh - Making his contribution in the Chief Minister's Covid relief fund Cooperation and Jails Minister, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa have announced to contribute 30 percent of their salary to the Covid relief fund each month.
Earlier, in March, the Cooperation Minister had donated his one month salary to the fund. The ministers said they had done their bit to raise funds for the war against the Corona Virus, which the state government is fighting.
Bajwa said there was a dire need of safety kits and masks for these fighters while patients need medicines and ventilators. In addition to this to stop Corona virus from spreading state needs testing kits. “To buy all these equipments state government needs huge amount of money,” added Bajwa.
He has also appealed to all the Ministers, MLAs and all the regular employees starting from Grade 4 to the rank of Chief Secretary to contribute 30 percent of their salary to the chief minister relief fund for next six months.
Besides this the Rural Development Minister has also appealed to the Industrialists and Businessmen to as much as possible to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. “Every penny contributed to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund would be helpful in fighting the war against Corona,” added Tript Bajwa.
The Minister said that the Punjab Government has to stop all other works and spend all money to win war against Corona, so it’s possible that we have to stop some of our development works for some time. The Minister said that we need to be mentally prepared for this and postpone some of our development works related to roads, bridges, Sewerage, and buildings of Schools and colleges. He said that need of the hour is to save the lives of people and the Punjab Government has pushed all its resources for saving lives of people.
